Convert cat years to human years and find out your cat’s real life stage.
Cats mature very fast at first: by their first birthday they’re the equivalent of a 15-year-old human, and by two they’re about 24. After that, every cat year adds roughly 4 human years. So a 10-year-old cat is about 56 in human terms, and a 16-year-old cat is around 80.
Indoor cats commonly live 14–18 years and many reach their twenties. From about age 11, twice-yearly vet checks are recommended — kidney disease, thyroid problems and arthritis are common and treatable when caught early. Wondering about your cat’s diet? See what cats can and can’t eat.
