Recall Watch: private pet food recall monitoring for businesses
The public record on this site is free, open and will stay that way. Recall Watch is the private layer on top of it, for businesses that cannot afford to find out late: a watch list of the brands and products you care about, checked against five official registers every thirty minutes, with an alert to your inbox or your systems when something matching is published.
It is the same record. Nothing here changes what the record says, and nothing here ever will. See What money cannot buy.

What it is
Paw Multiverse reads five official government registers on a schedule and keeps every entry after the authority takes it down, with a dated version trail showing what changed and when. That record already answers, in public and for free, whether a given bag of pet food has been recalled.
What the public record does not do is tell you, unprompted, that a recall has just been published against a brand you sell, stock, feed or underwrite. Recall Watch does that.
- You send a list: brands, product names, barcodes, or whole registers.
- Every new and changed entry is matched against your list, every thirty minutes.
- When something matches, you get an alert — by email, by webhook into your own systems, or both — with the authority's own notice, the lot and best-before codes, the country, the reason given, and a link to the original.
- Once a month you get a summary of everything that moved, including the entries that were quietly amended rather than newly published.
Who it is for
- Pet food brands and manufacturers — watch your own range and your competitors', and know about a co-packer's problem in another country before a customer does.
- Distributors, wholesalers and retailers — match a recall to what is actually on your shelves or in your warehouse, in minutes rather than by reading five government websites by hand.
- Veterinary groups, shelters and boarding kennels — know whether the food you are feeding, selling or handing out has been recalled anywhere you operate.
- Pet insurers and subscription box services — an early signal on claims exposure and on what is going out in this month's box.
If you buy, sell, feed or insure pet food in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada or France, the record already covers you.
What you get
- A watch list of brands, product names, barcodes or whole country registers, which you can change whenever you like.
- Alerts by email to as many addresses as you need, written in plain language, quoting only the authority's own notice.
- Alerts by webhook — a signed JSON POST to a URL you control, so a match can open a ticket, stop a pick, or flag a line in your own system without anyone reading an email.
- Cross-border matching — a product recalled in one country, matched on barcode against the other three. This is the case that catches importers and distributors out.
- Kept after the authority removes it — a recall that disappears from a government list is still a recall, and the liability does not disappear with it.
- The full version trail: not only new recalls, but every dated change to an existing notice, including the ones authorities make without announcing them.
- Your own history, exportable as CSV or JSON, so you can show an auditor or a buyer what you knew and when you knew it.
- A named contact and an agreed response time for questions about an entry.
Everything Recall Watch sends is drawn from published authority notices. There is no veterinary advice in it, no doses, no toxicity thresholds and no treatment guidance, and there never will be.
What money cannot buy
This matters more than the product, so it is written plainly.
- Paying for Recall Watch does not change the record. Not a word of it.
- Nobody can pay to appear in the record, to be removed from it, to be described more kindly, or to be told about their own recall before anybody else. A subscriber and a stranger reading the public page learn the same thing at the same moment.
- No advertising, no affiliate links and no sponsored placement exist inside the record or inside an alert.
- A no-match is never a statement that something is safe. It means no register we read has published a recall matching what you asked about, in what has been read so far. Recalls are often announced by lot or best-before date rather than by barcode. We will keep saying that, including to people paying us.
If those rules are a problem for a prospective customer, they are not a customer.
What is covered, and what is not
Five official registers, across the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and France. A country that does not appear in who publishes pet food recalls is not covered, and nothing may be inferred about it.
The record holds published recall notices only. It is not a food safety management system, it does not trace your lots for you, and it does not replace your own obligations to your regulator. It tells you, quickly and with a citation, what an authority has published.
You can see exactly what is in it before you pay anything: the whole record is public at the recall record, the raw data is at open data, and the machine interfaces are documented at developers.
Price
| Plan | For | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Watch | Up to 10 brands or 25 products. Email alerts, monthly summary. | €29 a month |
| Watch Pro | Unlimited brands and products. Email and webhook alerts, full version trail, CSV and JSON export, named contact. | €99 a month |
| Enterprise | High-volume API access, raised rate limits, bulk historical data, agreed response time, multiple teams. | From €299 a month |
Those are the usual shapes. The final price is set per list, because a clinic with forty diets and a distributor with four thousand lines are not the same job. Billed monthly, cancel whenever you like, no minimum term. Charities, shelters and single-site rescues: ask — the answer is usually free.
The public record, the open data, the feeds, the API and the widgets remain free to everyone under CC BY 4.0, with or without a subscription. You are paying for the watching and the alerting, not for the facts.
How to start
Email admin@aitmultiverse.com with the brands or products you want watched and the country or countries you operate in. We will set up the watch, send you a week of alerts at no charge so you can see what they look like, and invoice monthly after that only if you want to continue.
If you would rather start with the free version, put the recall check on your own site or subscribe to the public alerts.
