No — dangerous
No. Caffeine is toxic to dogs, and they are far more sensitive to it than people. Coffee, tea, energy drinks and especially coffee grounds or caffeine pills are dangerous.
Caffeine is a stimulant in the same chemical family as the theobromine in chocolate, and dogs cannot handle it the way humans do. It overstimulates the heart and nervous system. A few laps of a milky coffee are unlikely to harm a big dog, but concentrated sources are the real danger: coffee grounds, used coffee pods, tea bags, energy drinks, and caffeine tablets can deliver a serious dose to a curious dog who raids the bin or counter.
None deliberately, and treat concentrated sources as an emergency. If your dog has eaten coffee grounds, pods, tea bags or caffeine pills, call your vet straight away — do not wait for symptoms, which can escalate quickly.
Keep coffee, tea and energy drinks out of reach and bin grounds securely. For a pick-me-up treat, plain carrots are safe.
