Sometimes — with care
Blueberries are a safe, much-loved treat for rabbits — but they’re sugary, so just one or two occasionally. They make a great bonding or training reward.
Rabbits adore blueberries, and their antioxidants and small size make them a popular high-value treat for hand-feeding and bonding. The limiting factor is sugar: as with all fruit, too much upsets the fibre-driven balance of a rabbit’s gut and can cause soft stools or worse. Because blueberries are so appealing, they are perfect for the rare “special treat” but a bad idea as a daily habit — a rabbit that fills up on fruit may start refusing the hay it actually needs.
One or two blueberries once or twice a week, within the overall weekly fruit allowance. None for very young rabbits or those with sensitive digestion. Wash them, and always keep unlimited hay as the foundation of the diet.
Rotate single-berry treats with a sliver of apple or strawberry; herbs for everyday.
